would like to be able to tear off overview tab so that i could move that window to a new monitor and view it full screen while being able to send commands in a different window.

While it's not currently possible to tear off the
overview tab, you can instead undock your connection tabs and group them in a new window, then move the Royal TSX main window to another screen to monitor your connections.
