Stefan,
I apologize, you are correct. This must have a been a new feature that I just didn't recognize. I know when I first started using Royal this feature wasn't there. This is great to see. A couple of suggestions that would be cool, maybe I can already do this but I just don't know. The suggestions have to do with the picture. When you connect to an SSH session in MobaXterm it automatically opens/(connects) up the sftp tab on a side window like shown. Any way for it to open automatically with the session instead of clicking File Transfter > Connect with SFTP? Also MobaXterm supports drag and drop from the Desktop to the SFTP window. It seems as though Royal TS is locked down to having to use the supplied window to the left, and I couldn't drag and drop. Again, small thing, but would be nice to have as well.
Stefan,
I remember now why I couldn't do this the way I'm use to it. Will post it as a new idea which I never did.
I kindly ask you to open a new feature request for drag'n'drop from outside of Royal TS as well as for the feature to automatically open a SFTP connection when a terminal session starts.
Thank you!
How is this feature after 8 yrs still missing? Whats the purpose of having one tool for every task, when I still need to use WinScp?
@Kumare would you be so kind and be more specific. The main feature discussed in this thread has already been implemented. Are you referring to a different feature?
@Stefan Koell
Sure, maybe I did missunderstand the purpose of this feature. What I am looking for is, when I have a file open through Royal TS SFTP and the file gets changed on the server side, that it downloads the file again, so my editor can refresh and show the live content of the file. Instead of closing it and reopen it everytime again in SFTP.
This is very helpful in many use cases.
@Kumare: the Live Edit feature, as described in the initial post:
Once connected, I would like to be able to open/edit a file without first having to manually download it. If I make changes/save the opened document, I want the changes to be pushed back to the remote host.
... is already implemented. If you open a remote file locally through Royal TS/X, you can edit change it and all changes will be uploaded once saved.
The use case you are describing is new to me and I can't think of any application where I've seen that. Can you show us apps/products doing this?
@Stefan Koell
I want the opposite, I want if the file changes on the remote side, that its locally updated on my computer.
Well, then I kindly ask you to open a new feature request and provide as many details as possible on how this should work. More helpful would be if you can point to an app or product which supports that to see how this can be implemented.
@Stefan Koell
Thank you, done: Keep Remote Directory up to Date
@Kumare
first of all, it seems you mistakenly opened a new support ticket instead of creating a new post in the Ideas forum where we track feature requests.
Secondly, the link you provided is about keeping Remote directories up to date when local files are changing - not the other way around. Although Royal TS doesn't do this on a directory level, it does it for files opened from a remote location to edit. I can't find anything which does the opposite. I think the reason for that is the technical difficulties to monitor remote directories in the same way you can do with local directories. Again, feel free to open a feature request and if you can provide an app which can do what you want and if enough other users are interested in it, we can definitely look into it.

I love the new Connect with SCP/SFTP options. However...
