Hi Damian,
thanks for the feedback. I will see what I can do with each of your suggestion and may get back to you with some follow up questions. Before I do, let me mention two things you may be missing:
- you can open a dedicated panel which only shows tasks (View -> Tasks)
- you can use the command palette or global search to interact with tasks efficiently https://docs.royalapps.com/r2023/royalts/user-interface/commands.html
Hello,
I never use the “Tasks” view.
I just tested it, and keeping this view accessible quickly is quite handy: you can search and see the task description, which is perfect.
However, for the palette command, it lists all “Key Sequence Tasks” correctly, but the search only works if you start typing “Key Sequence Task:”. It's a shame that it doesn't search within the sequence name without prefix by “Key Sequence Task:”.
Hi Damien,
regarding the palette search: in the beginning we had fuzzy search enabled in the palette search but depending on the number of objects, it may contain a lot of noise. So we removed fuzzy search. We could make an option to enable fuzzy search in the palette search. Maybe the results are then better for you.
What do you think?
Regards,
Stefan

In RoyalTS, we are starting to have a lot of “Key Sequence Tasks” in the team's shared RTSZ file.
We use it as a toolbox of useful commands that are a bit long to write and therefore very handy on a daily basis for finding and executing a command on a server.
Here are some interesting ideas for improvements:
In the “Navigation” panel, when hovering over an item, information including its description is displayed. When hovering over items in the ‘Actions’ > “Key Sequence Tasks” ribbon, the description should also be displayed, since that is when we want to use it.
In our case, we have “Key Sequence Tasks” that are Linux commands and others for Windows Remote Desktop. A command is almost never the same in Windows and Linux. It would be useful if, when creating a “Key Sequence Task,” we could define whether it applies to all objects or only to “Remote Desktop” or “Terminal.”
Other ideas (perhaps a little less interesting or less feasible):
It would be like “Commands Tasks” with the addition of a menu on the right and apply the sequence in the terminal or Remote Desktop currently in focus.
