We could configure a ping or port scan for ssh.internal.example.com:22 and if it did not respond, then the connection would do the same for the alternate host. If neither responded, we would get an error message and if the alternate host responded, then we would connect that way.
If the feature is added, I would like to have the ability to specify multiple hosts and optionally a different port.
Optionally, It would also be nice to specify a specific DNS server to query for the IP address.

I would like to request a feature to specify an alternate URI to the connection.
Coming Remote Desktop Manager, I was able to specify an alternate host if the primary IP or Hostname did not respond.
The main host would be configured as ssh.internal.example.com and the alternate host would be configured as ssh.external.example.com.
